Geometric 3D Solids

As a quick, one-day lesson (offered as somewhat of a reprieve from the grueling ISAT testing that goes on for two weeks straight), I had many of my middle schoolers working with drawing basic 3-Dimensional solids.

To use a technique we were already familiar with, we first drew our lines in water-resistant wax crayon; we then added watercolor afterwards.

I can see a lot of improvement in how students are using the watercolor! I feel we are getting a better idea of how much water is too much versus too little when we mix our paint; it also seems like we know how to avoid saturating our papers! This was a common problem when we first used watercolors. We are learning and becoming better artists.

Boom, whatcha know ’bout that!?

Way to go, everyone!
