1st grade! Skull sculptures and blank canvas!

Some recent samples of clay coil pots, sculpted and painted by 7th graders.
6th and 8th graders were the first to dive into coil pots!
We used air-dry clay and carefully sculpted a strong coil-pot by applying pressure to the clay form with our hands.
Oh seventh grade, we are getting better at manipulating clay!
Way to work those fine-motor skills! What an awesome understanding of form, an important element of design! I especially enjoy the control of the PERMANENT acrylic paint! Look at all those primary and secondary colors!
Tarkington students have surely progressed from the beginning of the year! Congratulations to those who have worked so hard to gain a better understanding of the wild world of Art.

Last Friday was pajama day at Tarkington! Yay! We just rolled outta bed and hopped right into art class, ready to go!
This is a first grade class, mixing their very own colors for the first time!
